The Angel and the Devil
A Beautiful and Inspiring Story
An Italian ruler summoned a famous artist and ordered him to draw
two different and contrasting pictures.
He ordered him to draw an angel and a devil to contrast it.
To highlight the difference between virtue and vice.
The artist searched for a source of inspiration for the pictures.
He found a beautiful, innocent child, his eyes brimming with happiness.
He went with him to his family and asked their permission.
A month later, the drawing was ready and dazzling the people. A more beautiful painting had never been painted in that time.
The artist began searching for someone to draw the face of the devil.
He searched extensively, and his search lasted for more than forty years.
The ruler became afraid that the artist would die before he could complete the historical masterpiece.
So, he announced a grand prize to be awarded to the face that most terrified.
The artist visited prisons, psychiatric clinics, bars, and places where criminals were held.
However, In vain, he suddenly stumbled upon a devil-like figure... a nasty man swallowing a bottle of wine inside a filthy inn.
The subject...
He spoke to him about the matter and promised to give him a huge sum of money... The man agreed. He was ugly, smelly, soulless, and uncaring. He spoke in a loud voice and had no teeth. The ruler was delighted to see him complete his precious masterpiece.
...
The artist sat in front of the man and began drawing his features, adding to them the features of the devil.
One day, the artist turned to the devil-like figure sitting in front of him.
A tear rolled down his cheek! The artist was surprised and asked him, "What is this?" If he wanted to smoke or drink alcohol, he replied in a voice close to choking tears: "You visited me more than forty years ago.
When you, sir, were a little child and you drew inspiration from my face for an image of an angel. Today, you draw inspiration from my face for an image of a devil.
The days and nights have changed me until I became the opposite of myself.
Because of my actions, tears burst from his eyes and he threw himself on the artist's shoulder. They sat crying in front of the image of the angel.
The wisdom: God creates us all as angels, but we are the ones who change and distort ourselves... because of our sins. Therefore, God Almighty said, "And We guided him to the two highlands."
Meaning the path of good and evil.
So do not pollute your soul, the light of your face, and your insight with your ill-considered actions.
