Today's Story from the Good Old Days
Once upon a time, a hungry girl asked her mother for some bread to eat. Her mother apologized because she was combing her hair and asked her daughter to wait a little while until she finished, washed her hands, and then gave her food.
But the girl was stubborn and didn't want to wait, so she threatened her mother that she would open the cage door to all the birds her stepfather had caught.
The mother thought her daughter was joking and said, "Try it then." The girl went and opened the cage door, and all the birds inside flew out.
The mother was shocked by her daughter's behavior. Oh my God, her husband was going to kill her.
What should she do?
The mother gathered all her things and ran away with her daughter, not knowing where she was going.
She continued walking and searching for a place to shelter her, her daughter, and the fetus in her womb.
Night fell, then.
Until she reached a desolate forest.
She climbed a tree to spend the night there until sunrise and she could continue her search.
The mother stayed up in the tree with her daughter. Monsters came to her den after spending an entire day searching for food without success.
The monsters noticed the presence of humans up in the tree and wanted to capture them as food.
The lion, king of the jungle, sent the ant and said to it, "Try to sting the mother so she falls, and we can eat her. Then we will try to bring down the girl."
The ant climbed and began walking slowly until she reached the top of the tree, but the girl noticed her and crushed her with her hand, and she died.
The monsters waited for the mother to fall, but to no avail. They had no choice but to send another ant, but the girl also noticed, and crushed her, just as she had done to the first.
The monsters realized that the girl was the one who was killing the ants. The lion said, "Okay, the ant is a weak creature and is easily killed, so we will send the snake."
Send The lion approached the snake and advised it to change its path so that the girl would not notice it. The snake climbed quietly until it reached the mother, who was asleep and not feeling anything, and then bit her with a deadly bite. The girl did not realize until her mother fell to the ground. The mother and her fetus fell to the ground and became a meal for the beasts. The beasts began to divide their meal among themselves, but the rabbit was wise and astute. She said, "I do not want to eat today because I am tired, but I want the belly to be my share." The rabbit got the belly and waited for the beasts to enter their dens. She opened it and saved the fetus from death. She called out to the girl and said, "Come down, poor girl, and take your brother. He is fine, but you must run away with him far away so that the beasts do not notice and follow you." The rabbit waited for the beasts to enter their dens, so she opened them and saved the fetus from death. She called out to the girl and said, "Come down, poor girl, and take your brother." He's fine, but you have to run away with him so the monsters don't notice and follow you. The girl got out, wrapped her brother in her veil, and set off looking for a place to protect her from the danger of the monsters. The girl continued walking until sunrise. She reached a residential neighborhood and entered among the houses. She found a woman sweeping in front of her house. The girl asked the woman to sweep, but the woman would breastfeed her little brother. The woman agreed and breastfed the baby, and the girl started sweeping. When she finished, she took her brother and set off looking for someone to help her. She found a woman baking bread, so she asked her to bake, but the woman would breastfeed her brother. The woman did, and the girl baked the bread. Then she set off carrying her brother and looking for help. This is how the girl spent her life. Days passed and her brother grew up. The girl lived with her brother in a small, modest house. The girl thought about marrying him off. A girl became engaged to him, and he married, and the family now consisted of three members.
But this wife was not Tayyiba didn't want a third party to live with her.
So she decided to get rid of the girl.
One day, this woman brought a snake egg and hid it.
She asked the girl to eat together on the same plate.
Because the girl, Tayyiba thought that her sister-in-law wanted to eat with her out of love for her,
When they sat down to eat together, the sister-in-law pretended to forget to bring water.
So she asked the girl to bring it.
When the girl went to get the water, her sister-in-law slipped the snake egg into the food on the side the girl was eating from.
When the girl returned, her sister-in-law bet with her over who would eat the first bite and swallow it without chewing.
The girl said, "That's easy. Look!"
So she did, without realizing she had swallowed a snake egg.
Days passed, and the girl's belly began to grow. The snake egg hatched inside her stomach, and a small snake emerged from it and began to grow in her womb, as if she were pregnant.
Her sister-in-law noticed this, and this was exactly what she wanted. She quickly went to tell her husband what she had noticed. His sister accused her of being impure and of defiling her honor. The brother had no choice but to expel his sister from the house, accusing her of immorality. The girl left the house, not knowing where she was going or who she was living with. She kept walking and crying until she reached a desolate forest. She sat on a rock, not knowing what her fate would be. Fortunately for her, a righteous man passed by and saw her. He approached her and asked her: Who are you? And what are you doing here? She told him her story, and he took pity on her and asked her to come with him to his house, but she refused. She didn't want to go with him because she didn't know him and there was no connection between them. But he promised her he would protect her, so she went with him. This righteous man wanted to rid her of the snake in her stomach, but he didn't know how to get rid of it.
So he asked an experienced sheikh, who showed him the way.
He told him: "Bring meat, sprinkle a lot of salt on it, and grill it. Give it to the girl to eat. She must be patient with the saltiness and never drink the water, because the snake will eat it too. Then, tie her legs to the ceiling and keep her head down.
Prepare a bowl of water and place it on the ground below her head.
Try to stir the water so that it makes a sound so the snake hears it, and it will try to come out of her mouth to drink. When it comes out, hit it on the head with an axe, and that's how you two will get rid of it." The righteous man did everything the sheikh told him.
He killed the snake and wanted to throw it away, but after the girl recovered from the fainting spell that had befallen her as a result of this difficult experience, she asked him to leave it for her because she wanted to keep it for a personal purpose. So she kept it after sprinkling a lot of salt on it to prevent it from rotting. This righteous man asked the girl to marry him, and she agreed. They lived in honor and chastity. They got married, had children, and the girl became a mother. They lived a happy life. One day, she asked her husband if she could visit her brother. Her husband was surprised by her request and said, "Would you visit him after what he did to you?" She said to him, "He is my brother, and I raised him and I cannot forget him." The man agreed to her request. The woman and her sons agreed on a plan to clear her name in front of her brother. They would ask her to tell them a story when they went to their uncle's house. She and her sons began preparing to leave, not forgetting the snake she had kept for years. They set off for her brother's house, and when they arrived, the family welcomed them and honored them as if nothing had happened. At night, before the children went to sleep, they asked their mother, as agreed, to tell them a bedtime story. Their mother pretended not to know stories so that her plan would not be exposed. She said to them, "I do not know any stories. Ask your uncle; perhaps he has one to tell you." But their brother apologized and said, "How can I know stories to tell?" At that moment, the mother decided to carry out her plan. She said to them, "Now I have remembered a beautiful story that I will tell you." She began to tell them, "Once upon a time, there was a hungry girl who asked her mother for food, but she did not answer." Her mother asked for her immediately, so the girl released all the birds her father had hunted... This is the story of her life.
Until she arrived: The woman got rid of the snake that was inside her like a fetus, which was the reason her brother expelled her from the house, accusing her of immorality. But this woman kept the snake, and here is the snake with me... So she took it out of her belongings to prove her innocence.
Her sister-in-law understood what she meant and felt ashamed and didn't know what to do. As for her brother, he deeply regretted not investigating the matter.
At that moment, something amazing happened: The earth opened up and swallowed her sister-in-law. She was about to swallow her brother, but she grabbed him by the hair and saved him from death.
And so, that was the end of the cunning sister-in-law.
The story ended... We will meet again in a new story.
